As we have mentioned in different blogs, we encourage all clients who are considering having the Scalp Micropigmentation procedure to RESEARCH! RESEARCH! RESEARCH! We sometimes hear how they want to ensure they choose the right practitioner to perform their treatments. “How Do They Choose The Right One?”
The first thing you should consider when choosing a clinic that performs Scalp Micropigmentation is whether or not their personnel have the proper training and credentials to perform Scalp Micropigmentation treatments. You may wish to request to see their credentials before engaging their services. In our opinion, a good practitioner is one who have their credentials on show for their clients and potential clients.
For Scalp Micropigmentation, we suggest looking for the following:
A practitioner with good standing and reputation – the old word of mouth, many times, is the best way to learn if a clinic / technicians are good. Being able to see the work that was performed with your own eyes….you can judge quickly.
Reviews from previous clients – we suggest checking google reviews, Trustpilot reviews or anywhere you can find reviews on the practice. While every client does not leave a review, you should be able to find reviews from customers who have had the procedure performed.
The clinic holds proper insurance for practitioners – Each clinic who has technicians performing any procedure must be insured. If they are not, this is a major red flag. We would turn around and walk out immediately if they are not insured.
The clinic should be registered to perform SMP and comply with all relevant standards – ask to see their certificates to where they trained. Again, this should not be an issue to present these.
A practitioner holds certificates from well-known bodies in SMP treatment, and has completed the relevant Safety, Hazard & Infection Control certification in the region they are located in. Again, we believe these should be on show for clients to see. If they are not, ask to see them. A reputable clinic should not have any issues presenting them.
Images / Videos of previous work – While there are clients who prefer that images / videos of their work are not posted on line, the company should have enough on their website and social media to judge if you believe their work is good enough.
Open to giving tour of the facility – whereas some people may not believe this is really important, we believe it is. If a clinic is not open to giving a tour of the procedure, there must be a reason. Query the answer if you are not satisfied. If they are performing a procedure and the client having the procedure does not want anyone coming into the room, fair enough, but the tour can be scheduled during downtime.
