Scalp Micropigmentation is an amazing an innovative procedure for the millions of people throughout the world who have undergone the treatments. As I have explained in another blog, there are different types of Scalp Micropigmentation procedures – the buzzcut look, scar camouflaging, hairline reconstruction, Alopecia Areata and a density fill in. One question we often get from potential customers “What About On – Going Hair Loss?” Today, we will discuss the different options you have.
When someone has a consultation with us at Ultra Scalp Ink, we always go over the different types of procedures you can have performed. We need to ensure the clients understand each option clearly prior to the beginning of their treatments
Buzzcut look / completely shaved – This is the easiest option for the technician. When a client has the buzzcut look, the practitioner will be able to clearly see the area on the head that requires work. The best hair length for Scalp Micropigmentation is often a shaved or short buzzed look. Shaving the scalp is fairly easy and straightforward. Once it becomes part of your routine, you should have no problem keeping your hairstyle in top shape. Most people who decided to get Scalp Micropigmentation are those who want a clean shaven, buzz-cut hairstyle. However, the decision to get scalp micropigmentation would also depend on the level of hair loss you are experiencing, your budget, and other treatment options you have tried.
Density Fill – Having some hair growth can actually be a good thing. It creates the look between your existing real hair follicles and the follicles we have replicated with Scalp Micropigmentation. However, when hair grows out for a longer period of time, it can create an unkempt, uneven look around the treated areas. If a client decides to have a fill in or adding density, we always explain we are just adding density to the area that needs density at that point. If you continue to lose more hair in the future, you may need to come in for a further session or two in the future. This option is fully discussed and made clear to the prospective client prior to the treatments beginning. If the client decides to move forward with the density fill, we have them sign a waiver agreement that they have been made aware that the procedure being performed is on the area of hair loss they are experiencing at the point of the procedure and they may require further sessions.
Alopecia Areata – I have also mentioned previously we have had customers who have decided to shave all their hair off. They will have the procedure on the entire head, one the scalp, both sides and the back of the head. Once the three treatments have concluded, they grow their hair back so if there is future hair loss, they have already had the density added to the head already. This would be the only option that will cover for future hair loss.
All these options are presented to the potential client and they must make the best decision that suits them!
