One of the most important aspects of the Scalp Micropigmentation procedure, if you are not just having a density fill, is creating a new hairline or hairline reconstruction. Prior to having a consultation, many clients don’t even realise that creating a new hairline is even an option. SMP gives you the ability to fully customise the hairline style that fits your look and age! We suggest researching hairline reconstruction prior to your first treatment. It may take many days or even weeks before coming to your final decision.This is not an easy decision and should be discussed with friends and family prior to your first treatment. If you are unsure of what style or type of hairline will work for you, your treatment specialist will be there to help. With artistic experience on how to fit a hairline to head shape and age, your specialist can help recommend what’s best. Your new hairline should blend in naturally with the shape of your face.
Our best advice – the position of your hairline is key. Many people get this wrong when deciding on their hairline because instead of following their natural hairline, they opt for an ultra-low hairline that looks unrealistic and out of place. When you extend your hairline a couple of centimeters above your natural hairline, it fails to blend in with the rest of your hair.
There are several options we can offer:
The Natural hairline – The natural hairline is soft and does not attract the attention of those around you. The hairline comes down in straight line by the temples
The Receding hairline – Has a similar look to the natural except it’s more rounded off near both temples. It provides a more curved look
The Widows Peak hairline – If prefer your new hairline to come together in a downward V-shape at the centre of your forehead . Basically, it’s higher on the sides and has a low point in the middle. The widow’s peak is quite distinctive in some people, while others have just the hint of one. The term “widow’s peak” may be a holdover from 18th-century England. Tradition was that when a husband died, his wife would wear a black triangular hat or hood with the point falling in the middle of the forehead.
The Sharp hairline – sometimes called a shape-up, line-up or edge provides a neat edge for the hairline and right-angle at the temples. This hairline is most popular with our African and Asian clients. This hairstyle will restore the bald areas to a more youthful look. This style will also create the illusion of a full head of hair which is completed with a strong hairline.
Once your hairline agreed upon with your practitioner, we will draw the hairline with an eyebrow pencil. It can be tweaked before it’s fully agreed upon with the practitioner and once it is, we cover the eyebrow pencil hairline with a permanent marker and the treatments can begin. It takes an extended period as it needs to look good before we can begin. Be advised that over the course of your sessions you can also tweak and adjust the hairline for a perfect result.
