What Is A Density Fill?

Scalp Micropigmentation is a procedure that offers different options to people suffering with differing stages of hair loss. We are sure you have heard a full head scalp micropigmentation which can cover an area of a man or woman who has a buzzcut look. The SMP pigment gives the illusion of hair follicles to such clients but what if you have thinning hair or suffer from male pattern baldness, you have most of you hair but a balding patch / patches really effect you? A density fill might to the trick! Many people who search for more information about grown out scalp micropigmentation with hair are pleased to find that SMP for thinning hair is also an option. There is no need to shave or shorten hair prior to an Scalp Micropigmentation for density procedure.

When someone’s hair is thinning, they may not want the buzz cut look and that’s why Scalp Micropigmentation hair density is an option. The term density fill is just another way of saying adding density to your existing hair. It is the process of adding thousands and thousands of pigmented, simulated hair follicles to the lower epidermis and/or upper dermis, what is known as the epidermal/dermal layer of the skin. These simulated hair follicles fill in the white space on the scalp, giving the appearance of a thicker, fuller, denser head of hair. Some clients do not want to see the whiteness of the scalp at all, or may have significant hair loss or thinning, depending on what level or stage of hair loss they are currently in. They may decide they just want the area with thinning / no hair covered up or camoflauged. When you add density to the area, it’s completely undetectable and you wouldn’t know there was a procedure performed in the area! Performing a hair fill allows us to add as much density to the scalp as possible, to darken the scalp to prevent seeing any whiteness or thinning.

The most important aspect of a density fill, which we need to make the client aware of – a density fill covers the hair loss they are currently suffering from when they come in for the procedure. If the client continues to lose more hair in the future, they will need to come back to us to add additional density. This is why, when a client comes into us for a consultation for a density fill, we always ask if shaving the head to a buzzcut level is an option. If it is not, they are aware that they will most likely need to come back for further treatments in the future. We will discuss with the prospective client the desired look, and together, we will discuss areas of concern on your scalp and after the consultation, we willdevelop a game plan for your new look. If you have any questions regarding a density fill, the team at Ultra Scalp Ink will be more than happy to go over the procedure with you and the options we provide.
