Pre-SMP Advice From Ultra Scalp Ink

At Ultra Scalp Ink, we need to ensure that our clients are prepared prior to their first treatment. This is why we will always email our clients the following:

Before each session, please ensure –

•Moisturise the scalp. You will need to have soft skin. Your scalp will take the needle better. All you need, twice a day, once in the morning and one in the afternoon is a load of moisturiser. Put it on, rub it in there, morning and night. That will soften the skin. That’s going to help the needle just get under the surface. It’s not like a regular tattoo, where they’re going deep and scrapping it along. Scalp micropigmentation is just going under the surface of the skin. If it’s hard, the needle just bounces off. You get the best treatment with a softer skin.

•Cut your hair the night before. Use clippers, you get to my sort of length. Use what we call a foil shaver, that will take it to skin, if that’s your preferred style, use a razor (only prior to your first session – you can not use after your treatments), whatever you choose, but do it the night before. If you do it in the morning of your treatment, chances are, your follicles are still going open. It’s going to be a lot sourer, and you’re going to have a lot of redness. By doing it the day before. you are saving all that redness and it won’t be that sour. Don’t forget – It’s all about preparation. If you are having a density fill, it is not essential to cut your hair.

•Avoid anything that might thin the blood. Some examples – caffeine, aspirin and energy drinks. Products as such are going to thin the blood. What could happen? You’re going to create more bleeding and if you create more bleeding, the blood will mix with the pigment and then dilute it. We do not want that. Don’t forget – no coffee, no drugs, no alcohol.

• Do your research before you arrive for your first treatment. Choose yourself a hairline, whether it be defined, or whether it be sort of receded, a soft look filled with hairline. Natural results are what we’re after, and we produce incredible results. We will show you different examples of hairlines to choose during your consultation.

•Make sure you are stocked up on food so you have plenty of energy for the entire session. You are going to have a needle in your head, thousands of times, over a few hours. Anywhere between two to four hours and possibly longer, if you are having an alopecia treatment. You want to have plenty of energy to get through this procedure. If you don’t, your blood sugar is going to drop, you are going to feel dizzy, and worst case scenario, you may even pass out! Obviously, we don’t want that to happen.

•We suggest that two days prior to your treatments, do not take any of the following:

   •Anti-Inflammatories

   •Aspirin

   •Alcohol

   •Antibuse
